Before we get there...

We are based in and primarily work in schools/venues in Kent and the rest of the South East. However, if you would like to book us for a school/venue outside of this, we will travel further a field where possible. This may incur a small travel charge.

Our History Experiences, Pint-Sized Pantos and Workshops are designed and written for mainstream primary and SEN schools. Our sessions are created in accordance with the Key Stage 1 and 2 National Curriculum. However, we are able to adapt our content to suit all ages and abilities.

Yes. We have worked hard to adapt our content to make sure that your class, as well as school/event staff are kept safe. You can view our full Covid risk assessment here.

You can visit our contact page and select the booking form option. Fill in your details and we will get in touch with you within 24 to 48 hours. You can also give us a call on 01322 784078.

We can take bookings up to a year in advance. Give us a call or a fill out a booking form with your details and preferred date(s) and we will be sure to get back to you withing 24 to 48 hours!

For our History Experiences, we can accommodate 30 children per session. Extra children in a session are negotiable, but there will be a small fee per extra head if the class exceeds this amount.

Capacity is unlimited for our Pint-Sized Pantos and the logistics will be discussed when book with us.

Yes, all of the Nutshell acting team are DBS checked.

Generally, if you’re school/venue is based in Kent, then we will not charge any travel costs. If your school/venue is based outside of Kent, then we may charge travel costs of 45p per extra mile. However, we will always try and keep these costs to a minimum to ensure our History Experiences, Pint-Sized Pantos and Workshops are affordable.

Yes, you will be required to pay a deposit on your History Experience, Pint-Sized Panto or Workshop.

On the day...

Our Nutshell actors will arrive with the props, costumes and scenery 30 to 45 minutes before the first session is due to start to set up hall. Please note the team will also need 20-30 minutes to pack away afterwards.

We will require a clear hall space for all of our History Experiences, Pint-Sized Pantos and Workshops. Some of our sessions will require chairs/benches to be used. If there are any specific requirements for the session you have booked, the Nutshell team will also contact you a week in advance of the visit to discuss this.

At least one member of teaching staff must be present throughout the History Experience, Pint-Sized Panto or Workshop. To ensure a smooth running session and to assist with behaviour management, additional staff members are very welcome too!

After Our Visit...

On confirmation of your booking, we will send you an invoice for our work. We would ask that the remaining balance is paid to us by direct transfer on the day of performance, or up to 7 days afterwards.
