The Second World War
- Age Group: Year 6, KS2*
- Duration: 1 hr 40 minutes to 2 hours
- Capacity: 30 Children (extra children are negotiable)
As the Second World War comes to Britain, it’s time to Keep Calm and Carry On! The children will be transported to a small village deep in the countryside far away from the dangerous city. Here, they will discover how children of their age experienced life as evacuees. Village residents will care for the children as they learn about strict food rationing and protecting themselves during scary air raids.
The children also follow the story of husband and wife Dorothy and Harry, and watch how their lives change when Harry heads off to war. They will see how those on the Home Front pulled together to do their bit for Blighty, and write a postcard home which can be kept after our time travelling has ended!
* Can be adapted for other year groups upon request!
